18th Century : Classic period pierced escutcheon handle backplate component.

Pommel hole centres 53mm. (2 1/16")
Diam. pommel holes 4.5mm. (3/16")

OUTSIDE
Height 50mm. (1 15/16")
Width 81mm. (3 3/16")
Thickness (variable) 1mm. (1/16")

KEYHOLE
Height 14mm. (9/16")
Diam. of hole 4.5mm. (3/16")
Width at narrowest part of neck 3mm. (1/8")
Width at base of taper 6mm. (1/4")

Original would have had sharp chamfered edges.

Castings may require sharpening up with a needle file.
