New Wheels for old Toys

Over the years Guild Associate Timothy Benn has often had a need for authentic ‘antique’ wheels when restoring toys produced in the period 1880-1920. Never having found anything satisfactory he got in touch with a company who make brass castings and asked them to produce a mould from two antique wheels that had been salvaged from an 1890’s construction set.

These wheels are now available from the firm who made them – Brass Foundry Castings

The wheels are respectively 48mm and 62mm in diameter (see photo) and cost £8.50 + VAT (£9.99) and £9.00 + VAT (£10.58) respectively. Full details of the specification of the wheels plus further information is available on their website: www.brasscastings.co.uk
